Project Summary
Early in 2023, DJ Bonoan and Steven Quach, creatives and owners of Hadji Studios and Aeri Productions respectively, were seeking a writer for an unnamed tech company based out west. This company wanted a video showcasing their technological advancements and lab capabilities, but without focusing on any particular individual or heavily promoting their brand name—a stark contrast to most companies that aim to repeat their name as often as possible in 30 seconds.
DJ and Steven flew out to CableLabs’ locations to meet with the client in person and capture photos of the various labs to be featured in the video. After the meeting, DJ provided me with a brand guide he had developed, giving me a clear understanding of what CableLabs was looking for. With tight deadlines—initial concepts were due within a week of receiving the brief, and a rough draft was expected within a week of concept approval—the collaboration between everyone involved made for a fantastic working environment, and the revision process went smoothly.
The end result was a Gold Viddy Award-winning ad, highlighting the technological innovations made possible through collaboration with CableLabs.

About the Viddy Awards
The Viddy Awards, formerly the Videographer Awards, is one of the most coveted
awards in the video industry. Since 1994, thousands of production and communication
professionals have entered their best and most creative work. The goal of the Viddy
Awards is to identify and recognize the video artisans who excel in the scope of their
own environment. Winners range from network news operations to local cable access,
from large production companies to freelancers, and from international advertising
agencies to student producers.
Winners are selected from hundreds of categories under the headings of Non
Broadcast, Broadcast/Cable/Subscription TV, Commercials, Pro Bono, and
Achievement. The Platinum Award is awarded to those projects that the judges deem
are written, produced, shot, and/or edited in an exceptional manner. The Gold Award is
awarded for projects that exceed industry standards
The Viddy Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and
Communication Professionals (AMCP). The international organization consists of
several thousand marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, media
production, and freelance professionals who have entered AMCP programs.
As part of its mission, AMCP fosters and supports the efforts of creative professionals
who contribute their unique talents to public service and charitable organizations. Viddy
entrants are not charged entry fees to enter work they produced pro bono.
AMCP judges are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose
talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark
