Project Summary
Early on in 2023, DJ Banoan and Steven Quach, creatives and owners of Hadji Studios and Aeri Productions respectively, were looking for a writer for a then un-named tech company out west. This company was looking for a video focused on the advancements in technology and the capabilities of their labs without emphasizing any particular person or being bold about their name. This was an interesting task and so different from other companies who typically want to say their name as many times in 30 seconds as they can. DJ and Steven flew out to CableLabs’ locations to meet with the client face-to-face and take pictures of the various labs that were to be featured. After the meeting, DJ sent me a brand guide that he’d constructed so that I had a clear idea of what CableLabs was looking for. Deadlines were tight. Initial concepts were due less than a week after details were provided, and a rough draft less than a week after a concept was approved. The collaboration of everyone involved made for a fantastic working environment and the revision process was incredibly smooth. The result was a Gold Viddy Award Winning Ad about the technological advancements brought about by collaborating with Cable Labs.

About the Viddy Awards
The Viddy Awards, formerly the Videographer Awards, is one of the most coveted
awards in the video industry. Since 1994, thousands of production and communication
professionals have entered their best and most creative work. The goal of the Viddy
Awards is to identify and recognize the video artisans who excel in the scope of their
own environment. Winners range from network news operations to local cable access,
from large production companies to freelancers, and from international advertising
agencies to student producers.
Winners are selected from hundreds of categories under the headings of Non
Broadcast, Broadcast/Cable/Subscription TV, Commercials, Pro Bono, and
Achievement. The Platinum Award is awarded to those projects that the judges deem
are written, produced, shot, and/or edited in an exceptional manner. The Gold Award is
awarded for projects that exceed industry standards
The Viddy Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and
Communication Professionals (AMCP). The international organization consists of
several thousand marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, media
production, and freelance professionals who have entered AMCP programs.
As part of its mission, AMCP fosters and supports the efforts of creative professionals
who contribute their unique talents to public service and charitable organizations. Viddy
entrants are not charged entry fees to enter work they produced pro bono.
AMCP judges are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose
talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark
